Business Development Plans For Minority

According to the market researchers, US federal government is the largest buyer of quality goods and services. So, the business companies, irrespective of their size and domain can have lucrative prospect to the federal market. Recognizing this opportunity people are increasingly coming into business in the United States. Now, as the economy is in flux, US Government is looking forward to improve the standard of small business companies and so have declared a number of business certification plans.

SBA, the Small Business Administration provides support to the small businesses especially those are owned and operated by the minority group of individuals with an objective to uplift their social standard and also to strengthen the country's economical structure. 8A Certification is one most popular business development program of SBA and here we will talk about the basic nature of this program.

So, how to get started with the 8 A Certification program! For the qualified business companies 8A program offers a wide ranging support that includes management counseling, developmental analysis and advanced technical assistance in order to support the growth of that firm. With acquisition of federal prime contracts an 8a small business company gets entree to the most competitive federal marketplace.

However, the eligibility criteria for this minority business certification are stringent and the process is pretty time consuming. So, it is wise to get some knowledge about the program to know if that actually worth the time and effort. Free counseling is available in SBA. One can also consult the professional business consultant to get the certification details. 8A Certification is not the only small business development program if the US Federal Government. It is therefore essential to determine which type of program will best support your business.

The basic requirements of these minority certification programs are almost similar. To the very first place the company applying for the certification has to be a small business entity as per SBA standard. In addition, the applicant must have been into the business for more than two years which helps the certification authority to determine its management principles and business standard. The current financial statement of the company will also be required at the time of application. The financial statement must include the bank statements, income tax returns, balance sheet and the recent cash flow statements. Several other financial documentations may be required for different programs.

In 8A Certificationprogram the business companies must be owned and operated by the socially or economically disadvantages individuals and also offer the product or services relevant to the purchasing needs of federal agencies. Sometimes, even after being 8A Certified, the small business companies fail to win a federal contract. Here you must keep the fact in mind that you are not alone under this certification and so the potential is needed to beat your competitors. Being a small start up company you might find it difficult to follow the certification formalities and so the business consultants are there at your service. You can hire them not only to get certified but also to win a prospective federal contract.

How do I start a non profitcharitable oraganization? It's for donating handmade items to the needy.?
I would like to found my own non profit charitable organization to collect handmade items from local fiber artists (crocheters, knitters, quilters, sewers, etc.) and donate them to the needy in Louisiana. I have never made a charitable organization before and I don't know where to start and what to do after that. What I have done so far is call the Chamber of Commerce and they told me to call the Service Core Of Retired Executives. I have called them 7 times and all I get is an answering machine. They haven't return my call. I'm starting to doubt that they exist anymore. The Chamber of Commerce also told me to call and Small Business Development Center. I did and they told me that they don't deal with non profit organizations. So that's it. I don't know where to go from here. Has anybody out there ever gone through this process before? I really need advice or even just a place to start. Thanks!

What type of consequences does a s-corp. face when it fails? More so what do the owners face in this situation
I entered a partnership about 8 months ago. My partner reassured me that the company was solid. It didnt take me long to realize that that certainly wasn't the case. Eight months later we are in what seems to be a very bad situation. The money that we make is only enough to pay our employees and very little bills. Furthermore, my partner regularly takes money from the company for his personal needs. Granted, we have not been able to draw a paycheck for about a month. I have dumped in about 40 thousand dollars of my own money and have put my credit on the line and to help this company survive. Now, I am at a point that I have to start looking at options that will get me out of this situation. I have worked with the Small Business Development Center to try and push this forward with their help, but I am out of time. I would appreciate any help on this.
